Three quick requirements keep every hire legal, insured and protected — for you and for us.
Insure your rental with Coverdrone under a Hired-in (non-owned) equipment policy — covering the full equipment value for your whole hire period. We verify your certificate before dispatch.
You need a valid CAA Flyer ID, and your Operator ID must be secured to the drone before flight. We don't need proof of drone registration or training such as the GVC.
After checkout, send a copy of your passport or driving licence plus a utility, bank or council tax statement matching your name and delivery address.
Three things, all sent by email after checkout: your Coverdrone Hired-in (non-owned) equipment insurance certificate, a valid CAA Flyer ID, and photo ID plus proof of address matching your delivery details. Your drone ships the Monday before your hire week, as soon as all three are verified.
The damage deposit is charged with your hire in one payment, then refunded in full after our return inspection — typically within a few days of DPD bringing the drone back to us.
You need a valid CAA Flyer ID (a free online test), and your Operator ID must be secured to the drone before flight. You do not need a GVC or any commercial training to hire from us — but you are legally responsible for every flight you make.

We dispatch on Monday by DPD next-day tracked delivery, you fly Tuesday to Monday — seven full days — and DPD collects from your address on the Tuesday. Just repack the case and have it ready.
No — hire kits ship with the DJI RC2 controller, so you can fly solo under visual line of sight without an observer. Goggle flying legally requires a second person as a spotter, so we keep hire kits simple, legal and solo-friendly.
